“Dr. Dugoni taught me various strategies that I still use to this day to process and prepare for the glimmers and challenges of a chaotic life with two littles and working full time. I couldn't recommend working with Dr. Dugoni enough!”
-Angela, mother of 2
I encourage the active participation of parents in therapy for children and teens.
You are the expert on your child.
Parents have a profound impact on a child’s growth and success. While I see your child only once a week, you see your child consistently and across situations. By helping you apply the skills used in therapy to the home setting, your child will benefit from faster, long-lasting change.
I believe strongly in supporting you, so that you can support your child. Doing so will not only have a greater impact on your child, but will also leave you feeling more confident and grounded in your parenting. I am equally invested in your child’s growth and your path of development as a parent and person.

Therapy: What to Expect
-
We will begin with a parent interview to discuss your reasons for seeking treatment, learn about your child’s strengths, and gather a history of your concerns. The comprehensive intake may also include a child-only interview, observations, standardized questionnaires, and an opportunity for you to ask me questions.
Following the intake appointment, I will provide feedback, diagnostic impressions, and treatment recommendations. Together, we will develop an individually-tailored plan targeting your concerns and goals.

Sessions are typically weekly and last 50-55 minutes, although this may vary by family. Therapy involves the active participation of parents in addition to your child. Therapy will include a blend of play, reflective discussion, and active skill building.
