I am a private pay provider and do not accept insurance. However, many insurance companies will cover services for out-of-network providers. If you have a PPO, I can provide a “super bill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance to ask what reimbursement looks like for an out-of-network provider, as reimbursement is not always guaranteed. If you’re looking for an in-network provider, Psychology Today and Postpartum Support International have helpful directories. I also offer workshops and courses that are available to the public; please refer to the "Workshops" page for details.

You must notify me at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid being charged. If you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance that you need to cancel/reschedule, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
An exception to this policy is during the perinatal period (please refer to the "Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Women's Health" page for details).

The duration of therapy varies from person to person based on the nature and severity of the problem. Some people find that their concerns resolve within a few sessions, whereas others may wish to continue therapy for a longer time.

Therapy offers the opportunity for regular appointments to work towards your goals together. Think of consultation as similar to how you might work with a medical doctor for a narrow, specialized concern. For a consultation, you would meet with me for 1-3 appointments to receive initial information and concrete next steps. Consultation does not create a therapeutic relationship.

If you do not live in Oregon, you are welcome to take a workshop or course (as these are educational and do not constitute therapy). Please visit the "Workshops" page for more information.

In most cases, parents are included in therapy sessions for children. The reasons for this approach are based on evidence and research. I invite you to read the "Child Therapy" section for more information, and I encourage you to ask any questions about my approach during our initial appointment.
