Psychoeducational Assessment

I offer comprehensive assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults with the goal of providing strengths-based recommendations to help your child reach their full potential. Assessment results give us a deeper understanding of your child’s learning style, academic skills and abilities, cognitive processing skills (e.g., executive functioning), and social-emotional functioning. The results can also be used by your child’s school to qualify them for academic accommodations and guide appropriate interventions. My goal is for the assessment process to be a process of empowerment—together, we will identify your child’s strengths and uncover ways to use their strengths to bolster their areas of growth.

What to Expect

  • I offer free 15-minute consultation calls to learn about your child and make sure I’m the right fit for what you are seeking before proceeding with the assessment.

    I offer:

    • ADHD evaluations

    • Psychoeducational/Learning Disorder evaluations (e.g., dyslexia)

    • Autism spectrum disorder screening

    • Psychological evaluations (e.g., anxiety and depression)

  • I will send you online forms and payment information to complete prior to the intake appointment. Payment for the assessment ($3000 flat fee) is expected prior to the intake.

The first step in an assessment is to learn as much about your child as possible. This begins with a 60-minute virtual meeting with parents. It will also include standardized parent self-report questionnaires and a review of records (e.g., previous assessments, IEPs, 504 Plans).

  • A comprehensive assessment typically includes 5-6 hours of face-to-face in-person testing with your child. The testing sessions typically occur over one to two meetings depending on how much testing is needed and the age of your child. During testing, your child will complete activities that assess areas such as cognitive ability, academics, problem-solving, auditory and visual processing, memory, social skills, emotional processing, and behavior. Specific tests are chosen based on the goals of the assessment.

  • Once testing is completed and I have interpreted the results, we will have a 60-minute feedback meeting to discuss the findings, review my recommendations, and answer your questions. This appointment occurs about 2-4 weeks after testing is completed. The feedback appointment will include the results of the assessment, an analysis of your child’s learning profile (including any applicable diagnoses), and most importantly, an individualized plan with concrete recommendations for home and school. Depending on the age of your child, your child may be included in this meeting. I also provide this information in a written report that will be provided to you electronically following the feedback appointment.
